Affirming Therapy for LGBTQ+, Neurodivergent, & Highly Sensitive Teens and Adults in Texas
Support for identity, eating-disorder & body image issues, chronic illness, trauma, anxiety, and nervous-system healing.
If you’re feeling…
“Too much” or “not enough” in previous therapy or relationships
Misunderstood as a queer, trans, or neurodivergent human
Lost trying to discover who you are and how you want to live your life
Burned out from chronic illness or medical trauma, constant masking, etc.
Disconnected from your body or stuck in harmful food/body cycles
Confused as to where to even start, but you know you want to feel better and something has to change
If any of this feels familiar, you’re in the right place.
Hi there!
I’m Alicia Cornwell (she/they), a queer, neurodivergent therapist living with chronic illness and passionate about healing.
I support teens, young adults, and adults who are navigating identity, chronic illness, eating disorders, trauma, neurodivergence, and the messy, layered parts of being human.
I know how powerful it is to sit with someone who gets it. Someone who sees your complexity, honors your lived experience, and meets you exactly where you are.
I am currently based in Austin, Texas. I offer virtual services for anyone in Texas and in-person services through Healgood Holistic Counseling Center located in North Austin. I am also co-facilitating Healgood’s Adolescent DBT Skills Group and Adult DBT Skills Group.

How I Help…
My approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in curiosity- not compliance or shame. I use a blend of relational, trauma-responsive, and body-based approaches including:
DBT for emotion regulation and coping skills
ACT for moving toward values with compassion
IFS / Parts Work for understanding your inner world
Polyvagal-informed therapy for nervous-system support
HAES®-aligned, body-liberation frameworks
Somatic approaches for reconnecting with your body
The goal isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to help you build a life that feels aligned, possible, nourishing, and worth living.
In practice, this looks like…
Building skills to managing anxiety, depression, overwhelm, and burnout
Creating sustainable routines that support your mental health
Exploring identity, gender, and neurodivergence in a safe space
Strengthening nervous-system regulation + emotional resilience
Healing your relationship with your body and internal parts
